Operational Excellence Manager Curtis Hester believes in making each day better – one of our True Blue behaviors at Lansing.

This includes the days when he is not assisting at a branch.

“Find an opportunity to volunteer that fits your interests. Then make like a tennis shoe and ‘Just do It!” said the 25-year Lansing associate after spending two days volunteering with Ramps and Rails, a group of senior retirees building wheelchair ramps for those in need. “The age of the volunteers ranges from 68-94. Although I’m 15 years from retirement, they were excited to see this program may continue to thrive with younger volunteers.”

The Summer of Service experience had a positive impact on many, including Hester.

“My previous volunteer time was with youth. I’ve coached over a dozen recreational you. baseball, basketball, and soccer teams and have worked with youth programs at church.  Between my kids aging out of these programs and now I travel for work, it has been a while since I have served anywhere. Lansing’s volunteer hours definitely created this recent opportunity for me.”
